Location
The cottage is located in Big Hill, New South Wales, 25 kms from Marulan off the
Old Hume Highway.

Road safety
Local gravel roads are graded regularly and are suitable for two-wheel drive
vehicles.
Remember these are country roads and you'll need to be aware of livestock and of
bush animals such as kangaroos, wombats and rabbits - particularly at dusk when
they are most active.
If there are any gates closed on the road, you can just open them and drive
through, but please remember to shut them behind you.
Driving from Sydney
Longview Farm Cottage is around a two-hour drive from most parts of Sydney.
Driving through the Southern Highlands to the turn-off at Marulan, there are
many attractions to visit along the way.
- Take the M5 Motorway South, towards Canberra.
- Continue on the Motorway past Mittagong and Bundanoon/Exeter. (The
Motorway will officially end and become the Hume Highway.)
- Turn left off the Highway at the Marulan exit (at the truck weigh
station).
- At the first crossroads, continue straight over the main road onto
Brayton Road. There will be an Ampol service station on your left.
- At the next crossroads, turn right, continuing onto Brayton Road.
- Continue on this road without turning for 16.5 kms, where you'll see the
Big Hill Fire Shed on your left.
- Approximately one kilometre past the fire shed the road will become
unsealed gravel. Follow the road without turning for approximately 9 kms to
Mount Hannibal Station.
- Follow the signs for Longview Farm Cottage until you reach Longview
Road, approximately 3.5 kms.
- Turn left onto Longview Road. The cottage is 2 kms on your left.

Driving from Canberra
From Canberra, you can drive to Longview Farm Cottage in just over
one-and-a-half hours.
- Head north out of Canberra along the Federal Highway towards Goulburn.
- Continue north towards the Hume Highway. Once on the Hume Highway, take
the first Marulan exit (15 mins from Goulburn).
- Continue down Marulan's main street (George Street) until you come to
Brayton Rd (There will be an Ampol station and small supermarket at the
corner on your left, and the turn-off to Sydney on your right). Turn left
here.
- Turn right at the next cross-roads, continuing onto Brayton Rd.
- Continue on this road without turning for 16.5 kms, where you'll see the
Big Hill Fire Shed on your left.
